WASHINGTON (AFX) - Crude oil stocks rose 9.5 mln barrels to 285.3 mln in the week to March 9 from the previous week based on the latest data from the American Petroleum Institute, oil traders said. The traders said that year-on-year, crude stocks were down 956,000 barrels.
Gasoline stocks fell 3.4 mln barrels to 199.7 mln. Year-on-year, gasoline stocks were up 2.1 mln barrels.
Distillate fuel stocks fell 544,000 barrels to 113.9 mln. Year-on-year, distillate stocks were up 9.8 mln barrels.
Refineries operated at 89.5 pct of capacity, down from 91.2 pct in the previous week, the traders added.
