WIESBADEN, Germany (AFX) - Consumer prices rose 0.6 pct in February from January and were up 2.6 pct from a year earlier, according to final figures from the Federal Statistics Office. The consumer price index rose to 109.0 in February from 108.3 in January (1995=100).
Western German CPI rose 0.6 pct from January and 2.6 pct year-on-year, while eastern German consumer prices increased 0.6 pct from the preceding month and 2.7 pct from February 2000, it said. The results are based on figures from six federal states and confirm the preliminary figures for Germany released earlier, it said.
